Point Primary is a new school born out of the amalgamation of Knock, Aird and Bayble Primary Schools on the site of the existing Bayble School. The existing Bayble Primary moved into a refurbished block in what was the original secondary education block. The freed up the main primary block for demolition to allow the new school to be constructed.
The Isles are very susceptible to weather and the designed encompassed a weather friendly design for the roof and windows. A courtyard provides a sheltered external play area. The internal accommodation includes English and Gaelic medium primary accommodation. Pre-school teaching spaces, activity spaces, library, dining hall and gym. The school grounds include hard and soft recreational areas, an all-weather pitch, a multi-use games area and environmental garden.
The project achieved a BREEAM “Excellent” rating.
