The Concession Company:
DirectRoute (Tuam) Limited is a consortium contract was signed in April 2014 and will extend for 25 years from that date.
The Project: The Project Road consists of the following:
- 52.3 km of motorway (North of Gort to Tuam)
- 4.2 km of dual carriageway (Tuam bypass) - not part of O&M contract
Grade separate junctions at:
- Kiltiernan Interchange – connecting to the existing N18;
- Rathmorrissy – connecting to the M6 Dublin-Galway motorway;
- Annagh Hill – connecting to the N63; and
- Kilmore (at grade junction) – connecting to the N17.
- Ballygaddy Road interchange – connecting to Ballygaddy Road
We are responsible for the following:
- Routine Maintenance & Inspections of Project Road
- Daily patrols, safety inspections, safety patrols, detailed inspections
- Minor repairs, washing & upkeep of roads and road assets
- Maintenance of roadways, structures, pavements and lighting
- Control of traffic management on roadway
- Emergency & incident response
- Roadside assistance for minor incidents
- Emergency procedures and liaison with emergency services and neighbouring authorities during major incidents
- Winter Maintenance
- Salt spreading, snow clearing, etc
