Colin Cleary, Operations Manager at Lagan Construction Group has been named as the new president of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) in the Republic of Ireland region.
A qualified engineer, Colin graduated from DIT and obtained his degree from Trinity College. Colin proceeded to complete a Construction Law diploma in Trinity College in later years which he says has helped him get through a lot of public works contracts.
It is set to be a busy few years for Colin where a lot of projects may come on stream, particularly in the latter part of his term in office.
“There is a long way to go with respect to getting key infrastructural projects built in this country. Part of the drive involves lobbying government and various departments and trying to get them to invest and commence key projects. There is a lot of work being done. Colin will take office in June 2016 for a two year term following in the footsteps of Pat Lucey of John Sisk & Sons.
