13 Jun 2016

The Health and Safety initiative on the N17 N18 motorway project asks workers to submit safety observations on site and every two months, the Direct Route consortium (Lagan Construction Group, Roadbridge and John SISK) will make a €500 donation to a local Galway charity. The charity is chosen by the winner of the best safety or environmental observation report submitted by a member of the Galway site team.

This month, it was structures operative Sean Thornton from the Lagan Construction Group south section of the motorway project who won the privilege of choosing the local charity. Sean nominated Galway Parkinsons Association as his chosen charity. Galway Parkinsons Association are a voluntary group which consists of people with Parkinsons disease, family members and carers. The charity received a cheque donation to the amount of €500.
