With a record number of Work+ Apprenticeship applications this year, Lagan Specialist Contracting Group invited top applicants to attend an introductory day which began at Rosemount House where they learnt about career pathways at LSC and were given the opportunity to meet with current LSC Apprentice Civil Engineer, Finbar McGrade to find out first-hand what it’s like to be part of the Work+ Apprenticeship scheme within LSC.
The Apprenticeship applicants then made their way across to the University of Ulster (UU) site where the chosen apprentice will be based. Whilst at UU, applicants were briefed on the importance of Health and Safety and given a comprehensive overview of the project including the use of BIM by Henry Doyle, project Director. Finally, applicants were invited to take a tour around the site to see the current activities and gain some insights into the practicalities of working on a large-scale site.
